and i went to kosice to visit my friend anna, from italy (and continuing the coincidences story, anna knows my twin sister catte, from genova).
first of all, the journey bratislava-kosice has been the most beautiful i've ever made. it goes right through poprad and liptovsky mikolas and one can see the high tatras silouettes, the lakes and rivers...just beautiful.
and of course that inside the IC train, i didn't even notice the 36º outside. oh west, 13€ for almost crossing a country, have i ever mentioned i love slovakia?
here i started my mission: to find someone in kosice who likes bratislava.
on friday, i wasn't successful.
it would be like if i moved to a city where:
- if i was in a café the waiter would say "diga fáxabor";
- the ice creams had sardine flavour;
- the market was full of women selling fish.
but now for the conclusion:
i didn't find anyone in kosice who liked bratislava. one would think that this is a kind of rivalry that every country has, like porto-lisboa, paris-marseille, madrid-barcelona (i'm not sure of these last two, but it makes sense). but it seems a bit stronger here. apparently the people from the capital are arrogant, and all the services are concentrated here.
the two cities have very different energies, both lovely and interesting, they shouldn't be compared!
ay ay ay, i think i need more visits to the east to understand this thing better.
