noone ever speaks about this competition and recently it is used to make fun of the artists who go there. but not his year.
"homens da luta" is their name and it means "men of the fight". they are humorists and moderately famous musicians who made a song stating that "fight is happiness and the people make the changes in the streets, screaming". they won only because the audience voted for them - the judges did not, and when they were announced the winners half of the people left the room whistling in discontent, but at home, everyone was in awe and super happy!
what does this mean? some people call this a revolutionary song and that it will be embarrasing to show this kind of thing in germany. the band says that it will be great, to show that the situation is super shitty in portugal but their representatives are happy, motivated like them.
well, i was truly happy they won, it's an indirect statement of the unhappy people at home and it's time to change. and for the first time in years, i really want to see the eurovision contest!
